Sagano Area

Sagano area adjacent to Arashiyama area.
Arashiyama is very popular and nice to go. But you can also walk to north of Arashiyama area, Sagano, where the atmosphere become less touristy and more rural with several small temples scattered along the base of wooded mountain.
There is an attractive preserved town area near Adashino Nenbutsuji temple.

At the end of the preserved town, there is Otagi Nenbutsuji temple.
There are 12,000 stone statue whic was made by ordinary people. You can see different faces. I smiled a lot as I could feel this face is my feeling.

Budda statue usually have very calm faces. But these statue are like people.

This is Giogi temple. This is a small house where four women lived in Heian period.

The garden is beautiful with moss and maple trees and bamboo.

You can feel beauty by small things at the house and garden.
I went at 9:00 am, opening time. There is no people. So I really enjoyed the time being there, sitting in the room, viewing garden, walking garden for 30 or 40 minutes. I recommend to go early in the morning to Sagano.

KYOSERA Museum

There is a Kyosera museum in south of Kyoto.

Japan is an industrial country. Maybe you know some of famous country, like TOYOTA, SONY, CANON, NINTENDO and so on.
This company was established with by Kazuo Inamori in 1954. This company developed the technology of fine celamocs and started to make parts of tube television. In 1966, this company got a major order Celamic for IC. Then Kyocera entered a world  top company in this field.
Later Kyosera diversify their business and developed cutting tools, artificial tooth root, solar battery, copy machine in the 1970s and the 1980s.
Kyosera grew into a top global company which has 270 offices, employs over 70,000 in the world.

You can see all products which Kyocers developed until now. It is very interesting to know what they could made and developed from celamic.

The art collection which Inamoto gathered also are shown in this museum.

Also the space itself is very comfotable, wide and open spaces.
If you are interested in technology, it is nice to visit.

This is south of Kyoto. So you can go to Fushimi inari which is most popular place in Kyoto or Tofukuji which has beautiful garden on the same day.
